Medieval towns Pals and Peratallada

At a 40-minute drive from Girona, we find some interesting medieval towns like Pals and Peratallada. The town of Pals was completely rebuilt after the Civil War (1936-1939) thanks to a surgeon from Pals who donated his money to rebuild this lovely city. The restoration took from 1948 till 1978. Nowadays a stroll through Pals is like going back in time with its city walls and former defence towers.  Peratallada (carved stone) with an interesting history, goes back to the 12th century. The former castle surrounded by city walls, the watch towers and the tiny Romanesque Saint Stefan church outside the actual city wall, make this tour unforgettable.
