Medieval towns Pals and Peratallada

At a 40-minute drive from Girona, we find some interesting medieval towns like Pals and Peratallada. The town of Pals was completely rebuilt after the Civil War (1936-1939) thanks to a surgeon from Pals who donated his money to rebuild this lovely city. The restoration took from 1948 till 1978. Nowadays a stroll through Pals is like going back in time with its city walls and former defence towers.  Peratallada (carved stone) with an interesting history, goes back to the 12^th century. The former castle surrounded by city walls, the watch towers and the tiny Romanesque Saint Stefan church outside the actual city wall, make this tour unforgettable.
