Originally a Roman city, but most of its history goes back to medieval times, there are plenty of stories and legends.
The amazing cathedral with its unique central nave, in fact the widest one in the Gothic style, the recently restored museum is a must, the Jewish quarter which is said the best preserved in Spain, the small streets bring you to a former Benedictine monastery – Saint Pere de Galligants and the beautiful church belonging to the monastery, Saint Nicolas.
At a short distance we will arrive in Figueres where we can find the Salvador Dali Museum.
The artist himself died in 1989 leaving behind a fortune and a large collection of art. Guided tour through the museum where we will be able to see the famous inner courtyard with the “Rain Taxi”, the Cadillac, the stage under the dome with its paintings such as “Gala overlooking the Mediterranean”.
Absolutely a must and so very highly recommended. Some free time to admire the rest of the collection.
Don’t miss out Girona and Dali tour!
